Genetic Testing & PGT

Advanced embryo screening and carrier testing to support
the healthiest possible start for your future family.

Overview

What Is PGT?

Preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) is carried out during IVF. A few cells are taken from each embryo and tested before transfer, so that embryos unaffected by a specific condition or chromosomal change can be selected.

PGT-M tests for a known inherited condition, PGT-SR for structural chromosome changes, and PGT-A for an abnormal number of chromosomes. Genetic counselling before and after testing helps you understand what results can and cannot tell you.

Questions About PGT

PGT is highly accurate but not perfect. We may recommend confirmation testing during pregnancy.

Biopsy is performed by experienced embryologists at a stage when cells can be safely removed from the outer layer.

Not always, but carrier screening can help identify whether PGT-M might be relevant for you.
