Knowing what to expect can make your first appointment feel calmer. Here is
how a first consultation at HOPE usually works.
Your first visit usually lasts around 45–60 minutes. It is a conversation, not an exam, and you can share as much as you feel comfortable with.
Meet our patient coordinator and complete any
remaining forms.
Talk about your goals, history and any
previous tests or treatment.
Agree which tests may help and, where possible,
arrange them the same day.
Leave with a clear plan and a follow-up
appointment to discuss results.
Bringing the right information helps your specialist give you useful advice from your very first visit.
Yes, if possible. Fertility involves both partners, and attending together means you both hear the same information.
Yes. Video consultations are available, and any tests can be arranged afterwards.
No special preparation is needed for a first consultation. If tests are planned, we will tell you in advance whether you need to fast or come at a certain point in your cycle.
Please let us know at least 24 hours in advance and we will find another time that suits you.
You don't have to have every answer before you
reach out. We're here to help you understand your options.
